WELCOME TO
CASSELL PRAIRIE BUNNIES
Quality Netherland Dwarfs
welcome to the Cassell Prairie Bunnies website!
I specialize only in quality Netherland Dwarf Rabbits. We have 2 children Jackie & Chris. Both are grown and married with children of their own. We have just moved from our old home of 38 years on Cassel Road in Sauk City, to a beautiful Lake home (on Lake Wisconsin) in Merrimac, Wi. I will post pictures of our new home in the near future! I also have a new email address as well that you can find on my contact page!
I became very interested in Netherland Dwarfs when our daughter Jackie started in 4-H in 1988. We started with The Tan group and the varieties of Silver Marten's and Chin's. We then went on to breed Himmies, Chestnuts, and Otters. Jackie is no longer showing, but I have since been raising and showing these beautiful little Gems for 24 years now! I love the rabbits as well as the all the friendships I have made through the years with people from all over the U.S. England and Japan.
I have a 34 hole rabbitry. It is small scale, but my goal is to produce quality not quantity. Because of the small Rabbitry, I am able to give each individual rabbit a lot more attention and care. The colors I am currently producing are Chestnuts, Otters, Chins and silver Martens and some Brokens. I do occasionally have REWs and Blacks for sale that will come out of my lines.
Please take the time to view my website and see what I have to offer. I welcome any questions you may have about my rabbits. Thank you for taking the tour! Debbie

My husband says there really is life after rabbits. We have since moved and no longer live at the Cassell Road address. Although I do not have any rabbits at this time, I still have my web site, and I hope in the near future to again have netherland dwarfs for sale. We moved to Lake Wisconsin and have been super busy trying to get situated in the new house. Always lots to do as with any move, it was very hectic!!
With that being said, I still welcome questions about Dwarfs and would also be happy to refer anyone interested in aquality dwarf rabbit, to several of my friends /breeders that I personally know. Take care and I will see you at the shows!!

OWENS "ESKIMO"
WINS THE GLORIA FRITSCH MEMORIAL TROPHY/OPEN VS YOUTH
Pictured above, Eskimo and his wonderful wins!
Blackhawk Country Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club held its spring double Open and Youth show,on March 13th 2010 in Jefferson, Wi.
Wow!! Never in my wildest dream did I ever think I would win this Trophy!! The Gloria Fritsch Memorial Traveling Trophy is awarded to the best in show overall Netherland Dwarf Open VS Youth (Show 1) This REW named Eskimo came out of my colored rabbits. I usually do not keep REW's. I will sometimes give them to youth breeders. But I really liked the looks of this buck, so I thought I would keep him and breed him back to the chestnuts and otters from which he came from. Well what do you know! I have produced some outstanding rabbits from this buck already!! I guess good things DO come in White Packages!!
I want to thank the Blackhawk Country Netherland Dwarf Club for the awesome awards that "Eskimo" as well as my chestnut doe "Zoe" had won at the Spring Show this year. 2 Best of Groups, 1Best Colored Fur, and then BOB. Not to mention the top honors of winning the Gloria Fritsch Memorial Traveling Trophy Open vs Youth in show 1 under Judge Wade Burkhalter. (I would also like to say that the youth rabbit runner up was very nice!!) Both Judges Wade and Joel did a great job judging, and thank you to all the members who put their time into making this Show a success!
Most Sincerely; Deborah Owens
